Originally founded as Kellyville Riding Club in 1978, HRC was started to provide facilities for the many people involved in equestrian activities in the Hills District. The club is one of the very few that welcome riders of all ages – a fact that we believe is a key to the growth of our membership.

HRC relocated to new grounds at Clarendon in 2005, after spending many years located at Commercial Rd in  Kellyville. After losing the grounds,  we had several temporary homes,  the first was at  Hills District pony club grounds and then the  Vines pony club ground for a short time before we finally found the new grounds at Clarendon.

At the 2008 AGM, it was decided by the membership to change the club’s name to Hawkesbury Riding Club. Since arriving at Clarendon in 2005, HRC has developed the site to provide a number of comprehensive equestrian facilities.
